ILAY’s project
Israel
Ilay’s Project was established in loving memory of Ilay Nachman, who was killed during the Hamas terror attacks on October 7, 2023, while heroically saving others at the Nova music festival. Inspired by Ilay’s spirit and values, the project creates a national Therapeutic RV pathway connecting Israel’s surf communities through healing journeys by the sea. Traveling between beaches and surf therapy centers across the country, the RV Expedition fosters resilience, professional collaboration, and a supportive community grounded in care, connection, and mutual responsibility.
Ilay was a surfer, mentor, and a steady source of strength to everyone around him. He embraced life with joy, generosity, and a deep commitment to others. For him, the ocean was far more than a passion—it was a space of freedom, growth, presence, and human connection, where he learned resilience, teamwork, and responsibility. Along those shores, he built lifelong friendships and became a role model for younger surfers. Through this project, Ilay’s legacy continues to live on in every wave, carrying forward his belief in connection, healing, and the power of showing up for one another.
