Artist Talk with Zoya Cherkassky
November 4th, 2026 / DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY
Zoya Cherkassky’s signature “stand-up lecture” explores Soviet Childhood and Pravda—her acclaimed projects about growing up in the Soviet Union and immigrating to Israel. Combining vivid images, personal stories, artist commentary, humor, satire, and absurdity, the talk offers a sharp, deeply personal, and unexpectedly comedic look at identity, memory, and the immigrant experience.
Born in Kyiv, Zoya immigrated to Israel with her family in 1991 and recently relocated to New York. Her work has been exhibited internationally at The Jewish Museum in New York, the Israel Museum, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and other leading institutions.
